A bit about us…….
Clarence Town Presbyterian Church
SERVICES – 10.00am every Sunday – Currently held at the Clarence town Public school hall which is directly opposite the Church building in Marshall Street.
Located at 29 Marshall Street, Clarence Town (opposite the Public School), St David’s Presbyterian Church was built in 1905. It has continued to be a place of public worship since that time, and currently has a growing congregation of followers of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and redeemer of humanity. We believe in the God of the Bible, who is Trinitarian in nature – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We hold Scripture to be God-breathed and the supreme standard of our faith, where all parts of it are useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Tim 3:7) Our Minister Rev Allan Welch and his family commenced serving here at Clarence Town Presbyterian Church in February 2019.
What to expect…
Services consist of singing songs of praise as a gathering of God’ people, offering prayers in adoration of God, confession, thanksgiving and prayers for the sick, our towns, our country and the world. We have a sermon from a passage in the Bible (normally about 25 minutes, either as part of a series, a topic or theme) and morning tea together afterwards.
The service is lead by a member of the Church congregation, and the sermon is delivered most often by our Pastor – Allan Welch. The congregation is led in prayer by a member of the congregation. Sometimes we have shared prayer. This is where about 2 or 3 people freely pray in turn out loud from their seats for a short time – either thanking God for his blessings or asking God to intervene in our lives.During the service there is usually a kids talk (about 5-10 mins) where someone explains a part of the Bible in easily understandable age appropriate ways. This is most often done using either a fun skit, whiteboard, activity or demonstration of some kind. The adults often get a lot out of these talks as well! Sometimes we’ll have a guest speaker come and either give a special talk about a missionary experience, personal testimony or some other talk.
Lord’s Supper is held quarterly – and all who profess faith in the Lord Jesus are welcome to partake in the bread and wine (grape juice), as a way of remembering the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins.
At Clarence Town these Bible Study Growth Group meetings are held at a member’s house at 7:30pm every Wednesday night.
Supper is always provided during and after the Growth Groups. There are normally between 6-10 people attending this group.

It was through coming to Bible Study (growth groups) over the years that my faith really deepened. Digging into the Bible with others has helped me understand God’s word much better, and has been a great blessing.
